Burns began her professional career on television as a supporting role of Peg in the Spanish-American teenage show Out of the Blue (1995-1996). Burns was added to the crew of the action series Baywatch in 1998 and subsequently was a part of Baywatch's sequel Baywatch: Hawaii until she resigned from the show due to a pregnancy she had just experienced.
